Pam Hickin works with Dave. She has a background in Youth & Community Work and Training. In her work with youth services she took groups on outdoor activities such as caving, walking and adventure challenges & residentials. Pam also worked with many Duke of Edinburgh Award groups on their expeditions. She co-ordinated the accreditation of young people's achievements locally. Her role for many years was with adults an included initial and development training for youth workers. Pam is a qualified NVQ assessor. Having worked with Yorkshire Dales Guides on an ad hoc basis since 1992 in May 2008 Pam became more involved.
Yorkshire Dales Guides was set up in 1991 by Dave Gallivan, and has established an impressive list of clients.
Dave has over 45 years experience of caving and potholing. He is a nationally qualified Caving Instructor (CIC). He has lived and worked in the Yorkshire Dales for over 35 years and has an extensive knowledge of the local cave systems. As well as the British Isles, he has caved all over the world including Europe and Vietnam.
Dave holds a MLTE Mountain Walking Leaders Award. He has a vast experience of walking both locally, in other areas in the British Isles and the world.
Dave has worked with a wide range of groups and individuals over the years. Not only caving but walking, team building and he has also worked with many Duke of Edinburgh Award groups on their expeditions
Dave also has CIEH Health & Safety and Risk Assessment qualifications and holds a current First Aid Certificate and Mountain Rescue Casualty Care Certificate. He is a duty controller with the local cave and mountain rescue team.
Pam is a qualified teacher and youth worker. She also has CIEH Risk Assessment and Advanced Health & Safety Certificates. Pam holds a current First Aid in the Outdoors certificate and is a member of the local cave and fell rescue team. Pam also holds a MLTE Mountain Walking Leaders Award.
